As a Boston-based photographer, I know the local obsession with the forecast. We live by it. As the temperatures drop and the famous New England weather turns… well, unpredictable, I see so many families make an assumption: “We’ll just wait until spring for photos.”

I’m here to let you in on a professional secret: You don’t have to wait.
In fact, some of the most beautiful, authentic, and joy-filled images I capture all year happen right in the middle of a snowfall or a freezing cold snap.

How? By embracing the ultimate weather-proof plan: a cozy, in-home session.

This isn’t a “backup plan” for a rainy day. This is an intentional choice to capture your family in the most personal, comfortable, and meaningful place of all: your home.
Here’s why it’s the perfect option for your family this season.

Let’s start with the obvious. When you book an in-home session, you can stop checking your weather app.

Your session date is your session date. It’s locked in. We’ll be creating beautiful images in a warm, cozy environment, no matter what the weather is doing outside. The peace of mind that comes with that is invaluable.

This is especially for you, new parents. When you have a brand-new baby, the idea of packing the diaper bag, timing the feedings, and getting everyone (including yourself) out the door feels like running a marathon.

With an in-home newborn or family session, you don’t have to.

I bring my entire setup to you. You have access to all your comforts: snacks for the kids, the coziest blankets, the baby’s swing, and a fresh cup of coffee. You get to relax in your own space, which in turn makes the photos more relaxed, natural, and real.

Think about the photos you’ll cherish most in 20 years. It won’t just be a picture of your family; it will be a picture of your life.

Your home is the backdrop to your story. It’s filled with your personality and your memories. An in-home session captures that unique, personal narrative in a way no park or public space ever could.

This is the number one thing I hear from clients, and I want to be perfectly clear: It does not matter.
I promise you, I am not coming over to judge your housekeeping. I am coming to find the light.

My job as a photographer is to see the beauty and connection. All I need is one window. We can (and will) move a pile of laundry or a stack of mail. The focus is on your family’s love and emotion, not your interior design. Your home, just as it is, is the perfect place to tell your story.

If you love the idea of an indoor, weather-proof session but would prefer not to worry about your home space at all, the studio is your answer.
My cozy photography studio is always warm, ready, and set up with simple, timeless backdrops. It’s the perfect “get out of the house” option that still provides a simple, stress-free, and warm environment to capture your family.

The days are short and the air is cold, but your baby is only this little once. Your toddlers are growing in the blink of an eye. Don’t let a Boston winter be the reason you miss capturing this chapter.

The last 13 years as a Boston portrait photographer has taught me that I would rather document the whole of life, and not just parts. This led me to a focus in everything from sweet newborn photos to family portraits, maternity and motherhood portraits and senior photos.
Look forward to an intuitive experience that is more communicative than not (no details missed or advice not shared), and with custom, modern and light filled photos that are hand-edited to be framed and passed on.
